Few plants can spark conversation like lithops (aka live succulents, living stones, or stone faces). In their natural habitat, these intriguing succulent life-forms blend in with the surrounding non-living stones and coarse sand. Some might say they even resemble brains or bottoms. Yeah, those bottoms. No two seem to be identical in appearance, with the tops of their windowed leaves featuring intricate patterns. Many species eventually form clusters, and in their native home of South Africa, clusters gradually spread to form large colonies that can span 6 feet in diameter. In typical planted spaces, however, potted lithops are particularly great at lending quirky flair to tight and bright spaces. A single body can be up to 1.5" in diameter and is split by a central cleft, creating a nearly stemless bilobed body (cue the comparisons to bottoms). When in the bloom, lithops temporarily lose their “masters of disguise” powers, as the plants are nearly obscured by flowers that are composed of frilly satiny yellow or white petals.

Succulents and Cacti Basic Care: Easy

  • Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. Water deeply and infrequently, ensuring excess water drains away. Reduce watering to a minimum during the winter.
  • Light: Most succulents and cacti thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Some species can handle direct sunlight, but it's best to acclimate them gradually to prevent sunburn.
  • Soil/Drainage: Use a well-draining potting mix designed specifically for succulents and cacti. The ideal blend should contain porous materials like perlite, pumice, or coarse sand to promote aeration and drainage.
  • Temperature: Prefer warmer temperatures but can tolerate a range from about 40°F (4°C) at night to 95°F (35°C) during the day. Protect them from frost to prevent damage.
  • Humidity: These plants prefer low-humidity environments. If indoor humidity is high, ensure good air circulation around the plants to help keep moisture levels down.
  • Fertilizing: Feed sparingly, only during the growing season (spring and summer), using a balanced, low-nitrogen fertilizer diluted to about half the recommended strength.

Order & Shipping Info:
-Plants ship in a grower's pot, fully rooted.
-We ship every Monday and Tuesday (excluding holidays) to avoid weekend delays.
-Our photos show what you can expect, but each plant is unique and may look slightly different upon arrival.
-Minor damage during shipping is entirely normal and should be expected, especially in extreme summer or winter temperatures. Don’t worry—damaged foliage can be trimmed away and will not affect the plant's root system or overall health.
-Hold off on watering if the soil is still moist, and wait 2-4 weeks before repotting or fertilizing. This patience will help your plant adjust smoothly without going into shock.

Important:

  • Report any order issues the day they arrive by messaging us on Etsy or emailing [email protected] with a photo. After 24 hours, no refunds, returns, or exchanges—no exceptions.
  • We guarantee plants arrive alive but can’t promise long-term success due to plant nature.
  • Refunds are case-by-case. Many plants recover with proper care, so refunds may not be needed.

SQL qsg book
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I've taken a couple classes on SQL some time ago and was looking for a book to go over basics. This is a perfect book to start with the basics of understanding how to write a SQL query. I really liked that there is a free database to use in SQLite to follow along with the examples in the book. That was very helpful for me. I appreciated the tips throughout the chapters and the practice questions at the end. Easy to read and follow.

This is a good very distant overview
Format: Paperback
Sometimes I need a really simplistic overview of an entire subject before I feel comfortable sitting down to learn it. Like if you are going to learn about, say, 13th Century France you might want to know just a little about the major issues of the entire century before sitting down with a text book. This book is good for that. It's short, it gets you started with the main keywords, and at the end you have a good picture of what the language can do. And you can get to the end in a day or two. It's very well written, well organized, clear, and very very limited in scope. But if you read it, you will be in good shape to start getting down to business with working with SQL with a more advanced text. This book, in my opinion, was well worth the money and the read even though ultimately I turned to something far more advanced.

Does a good job, but too much philosophy.
Format: Kindle
I'm about halfway through this book. I have a condition that makes it hard to read. This book does a good job of teaching SQLite but spends too much time stressing the importance of comments and style. I agree, that these things are important, however, not to the audience of the book. The reader would have been better served by getting into the grit of SQL syntax and which keywords to use when versus ensuring that every query had a comment block with name, date, and description. Moreover, requiring every reader to download a prewritten database to work from and special utilities to follow along takes away from the learning experience. That said, you will learn the basics about SQLite, and by the end of the book be able to handle most problems you'll encounter when developing an application.
